TULSA, Oklahoma – A Claremore mother was charged Tuesday with two counts of first degree manslaughter in a crash that killed her two children.

According to court records, Destiny Lynn Burns, 27, was under the influence of intoxicating substance when she crashed her Pontiac Grand AM on September 16, 2010 in Rogers County.

Two-year-old Quenth Jacobson and six-year-old Jocelynn Jacobson were pronounced dead at the scene.

Burns' other passenger, 17-year-old Lindsey Emery, was taken to the hospital but later released.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Burns was driving on a county road at a high rate of speed when she went off the road and struck a tree. OHP said the impact split the car in half.

Burns was pinned for about 30 minutes before firefighters freed her.

Troopers said Burns, Emery, and Jocelynn Jacobson were wearing seatbelts. They said Quenth Jacobson was in a child safety seat, facing forward.

The accident happened on North South 4180 Road less than a mile south of East-West 410 Road.
