TULSA, Oklahoma – Tulsa Police have found the body of a missing Tulsa man. Richard Shook was found Wednesday afternoon behind a business in the 3100 block of South Mingo Road.

The family has been notified of Shook's death. There is no immediate word on the cause of death, but foul play is not suspected.

Police said Shook, 57, walked away from a home in the 2500 block of South 96th East Avenue around 3 a.m. Wednesday morning. Shook's family told officers they tried to find him, but were unable to do so.

Officers used tracking dogs and helicopters to look for Shook. His body was found behind the Mingo Road Veterinary Hospital near 31st and Mingo after business employees called in to the Tulsa Police.

Officer Leland Ashley said he appreciated the concern and help of the Tulsa community as they searched for the missing man.

Shook had been last seen wearing a blue jumpsuit and brown shoes. Police said Shook suffered a previous brain injury that has caused his mental capacity to be that of a 5-year-old child.

"I'm very upset, scared," Betty Madden, his sister, said early Wednesday. "I worry about him."

"He's just like a little child and I'm worried," she said. "And I want to find him."

The medical examiner will determine Shook's cause of death.
