TULSA, Oklahoma -- Tulsans gave the environment a big gift this Christmas.

They kept more than 40,000 pounds of cardboard from going to landfills. Harley Hollan Companies turned all that trash into a giant cardboard Christmas Tree.

They teamed up with The Metropolitan Environmental Trust for "The 12 Days After Christmas". They encouraged people to recycle all the boxes and styrofoam their gifts came in.

"There's not a place for cardboard here locally for them, so they think this is just great that they're able to keep this out of the landfills. So, huge success," said Nick Griego, Sales & Marketing Director for Harley Hollan.

The company wants to make the event an annual affair. But, you don't have to wait until next Christmas to drop off extra cardboard.

Harley Hollan is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday. They are located at 5677 S 107th East Ave in Tulsa. For more information, go to unboxing.com.
