Snow continued to fall across northeastern Oklahoma Monday afternoon. The News On 6 WARN Team said the heaviest snowfall amounts will occur across northern Oklahoma, near the Kansas state line. Some locations could see two to four inches of snow before the system moves out of the area.

Snowfall is expected to be light in the Tulsa area.

"The Tulsa metro may see accumulations ranging from 1 to 2 inches," said News On 6 meteorologist Alan Crone.

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation said it continues to monitor roads and highways across the state, applying sand and salt where needed.  More than 40 trucks are ready to go in the Tulsa area, with 13,000 tons of sand and salt.

Still, motorists are encouraged to drive cautiously and allow for extra travel time.  For road conditions in Oklahoma, call 888-425-2385.

Bitter cold temperatures will settle into the area behind the system. Temperatures are not expected to get above freezing until the end of the work week.

"Wind chill values Tuesday through Wednesday morning may be on the order of -5 to 14 and wind chill advisories may be needed for these time periods," Crone said.
