SAND SPRINGS, Oklahoma -- Sand Springs firefighters say a teenager saved her family after a fire started inside the garage of their home at 150th West Avenue and 18th Street early Thursday morning.

Fire officials say the 16-year-old female noticed smoke coming from the garage at about 1:30 a.m. and woke up her parents.

Firefighters say the fire was contained to the garage and attic above it.

The family living in the home was not hurt.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
