TULSA, Oklahoma -- An Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper came across a car crash in the 800 block of East First Street at about 3 a.m. Monday, and had to wake the driver to get him out.

The trooper hesitated to approach the vehicle because of the live power lines nearby but that changed when he saw a man sleeping behind the wheel.

Once the trooper got him out of the vehicle, the 21-year-old driver told the trooper he was on his way home from a bar and didn't remember what happened.

The trooper says the man must have been driving the wrong way down First Street when his car slammed into the electric pole almost snapping it in two.

The man was taken to a hospital as a precaution but could be charged with DWI.
