NOGALES, Arizona – A Tulsa murder suspect was arrested in Arizona Tuesday morning trying to cross the U.S. border.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers arrested 24-year-old Charlie Noriega at the Nogales Port of Entry about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.  Officers said Noriega was trying to re-enter the United States.

According to a release from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Noriega couldn't provide any identification. Officers ran his name and other information through the system and discovered he was wanted on a first degree murder charge in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Noriega is charged in the death of 23-year-old Jason Crowder, who was shot to death in June 2010. Officers said Noreiga shot Crowder while he was visiting a friend in the 700 block of North Atlanta Place.

According to the release, Noriega was taken into custody and turned over to Santa Cruz County Sheriff.
