ENID, Oklahoma – An Enid man was arrested Friday for entering the building without permission.
According to Enid police, 23-year-old Christopher Whatley was arrested at Waller Middle School Friday morning after he allegedly entered the building without permission after being denied access to a student.
Enid Public Schools spokeswoman Amber Graham Fitzgerald said a man entered the school's office about 10 a.m. asking to see a student he did not have permission to see. She said when the man was denied permission he left the office and entered an empty classroom.
Graham Fitzgerald said Enid and campus police were contacted and placed the man under arrest. Police said Whatley was arrested in connection with two counts of battery, malicious injury to property, resisting arrest and public intoxication.
Detectives still were working the case and more details were not available, according to an Enid Police Department spokesman.
