OKLAHOMA CITY -- An Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper has bonded out of jail after being arrested on a misdemeanor charge.

Ronnie Arganbright was arrested for violating a protective order in Beckham County.

News 9 reported in November Arganbright was put on paid administrative leave but OHP has not confirmed what he's being investigated for. He has been on administrative leave without pay since December 8.

No charges from that investigation have been filed against him.

Josh Welch, attorney for Trooper Arganbright's attorney Josh Welch released this statement to News 9:

"Trooper Arganbright has been spent many years in law enforcement and serving the people of that area. He surrendered himself when he learned of the misdemeanor charge against him. We will appear in court on Monday and contest and deny the allegations that brought this charge. We would say that Ronnie deserves the benefit of people believing in his innocence, and ask for people to give him the benefit of the doubt, as the law allows."
