TULSA, Oklahoma -- A Bank of America branch was robbed Wednesday afternoon, and the suspect fired shots during the holdup.

Police said no one was hurt. The bank is at 10300 East 71st Street in Tulsa.

"It's kind of a mess in there, there's actually money on the floor, scattered all over, so we're not sure what happened, if he dropped some, got some. It's a pretty chaotic scene," said Tulsa Police Captain Rick Helberg.

Police said a white man entered the bank about 2:30 p.m. armed with a black semi automatic pistol.  Officers said the gunman fired a shot into the ceiling near a surveillance camera.

Police said the man, carrying a white mesh laundry bag, demanded cash from a teller, but lost some cash on the floor and the counter before running out the door.

Police said he got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. There were no customers in the bank at the time.

Officers said a dark colored, mid 90's, four-door sedan was seen leaving the bank going east.

The gunman is described as a white male, 6'3"- 6'5" tall, 250- 270 lbs, wearing a brown Carhart jacket and pants, or possibly coveralls. He was wearing a blue hoodie and a black ski mask, say police.

This is the third bank robbery in the city of Tulsa in 2011.
