ROGERS COUNTY, Oklahoma -- A Claremore woman is dead after she was struck by an eastbound BNSF train in Rogers County Wednesday afternoon.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the woman, identified as 29-year-old Carrie Sherry was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers say the train's engineer says the woman sitting beside the track and as the train approached, the woman stood up, walked onto the track and stopped.
The incident occurred at 3:47 p.m. near a railroad crossing at state Highway 66 and NS 419 county road.
