TULSA, Oklahoma -- A Tulsa elementary school was put on lockdown Thursday morning when someone spots a teenager with what appeared to be a rifle.

The incident happened at around 11:30 a.m. near Owen Elementary on North Vandalia.

Tulsa Police caught up with the teen, who was actually carrying a pellet gun. Officers say the teen was never on school property, but he was taken into custody for outstanding misdemeanor warrants.

Tulsa Police say they questioned him and then released him to his parents.
