Tulsa County Sheriff's Office Investigates Fatal Shooting
TULSA, Oklahoma -- The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office is investigating the shooting of a man found dead lying by a car off the road in the 5900 block of North Utica Sunday evening.
Residents at a nearby home called 911 at about 4:47 p.m. after hearing and seeing what appeared to be the wreck of a car. When deputies and Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers arrived on scene, they found the body of a black male in his 20's lying next to the car.
Deputies say the residents did not hear any shots being fired prior to the crash.
The man's body has been sent to the state Medical Examiner's Office in an effort to determine his identity as well as the cause and manner of death.
Witnesses reported seeing a black over yellow Chevy work truck in the area at the time of the incident.
