TULSA, Oklahoma -- The Oklahoma National Guard has activated 140 soldiers Tuesday morning to provide support to Oklahoma law enforcement.
Guard officials tell News On 6, they have two missions.
One, to patrol the Will Rogers Turnpike from Tulsa to the Missouri state line and assist drivers who are stranded.
The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority closed the Will Rogers earlier Tuesday due to multiple vehicles stuck and impassible road conditions.
And two, patrol the H. E. Bailey Turnpike, which is southwest of Oklahoma City, looking for stranded drivers.
