Tulsa Mayor: City Has Spent $75,000 On Blizzard Cleanup

TULSA, Oklahoma -- Tulsa's mayor said Thursday afternoon that the city has spent $75,000 so far cleaning up from the Blizzard of 2011.

Mayor Dewey Bartlett said crews have been working around the clock to clear city streets and most of the main roads are passable.

The mayor said they've focused on the downtown streets with access to the expressways. And they've plowed 15 to 20 of the secondary streets that feed into Tulsa's main roads.

"Remember this has been a very serious storm," Bartlett said. "The worst we've had in our history regarding snow. So we're working very hard but it's still going to take a bit of time."

Mayor Bartlett said trash will not be picked up Friday and the municipal court will be closed. The rest of city hall will be open.
