TULSA, Oklahoma -- As another winter system moves into the area, Green Country prepares for another busy week.

The area saw light snow Sunday, and parts of Oklahoma could see as many as 5 to 10 inches of snow as more winter weather moves in late Tuesday and into the day Wednesday.

News On 6 meteorologist Dick Faurot said northeastern Oklahoma may avoid the worst of the upcoming winter storm.

"If current indications play out, the path of heaviest winter weather should be a little further south this time around," he said.

"Even so, much of the state could end up with another 5-10 inches of new snowfall. Much colder air will also accompany this system and linger into Thursday. After that, a moderating trend will be starting."

Faurot said this week's round of wintry weather will hopefully be the last for a while.

"All indications are consistently pointing to a pattern change that will take place over the weekend going into the next week bringing an end to this wave train of winter storms," he said.

In Tulsa, Mayor Dewey Bartlett says city workers are showing real dedication, going above and beyond while trying to get life back to normal as soon as possible.

The next couple of storms are not expected to be anywhere near what we experienced last week, but the mayor says they're not taking any chances.

"We are hiring outside contractors to help us to bring in more crews, more equipment as much as we need, so we're in good shape," Mayor Bartlett said.

Bartlett says city leaders have learned a lot from this winter storm.

After the cleanup, he says they'll talk about what to do differently next time. He says one of the biggest things they need to work on is getting abandoned vehicles out of way much faster.
