TULSA, Oklahoma -- The City of Tulsa held a multi-agency storm recovery update news briefing at 2 p.m. Sunday in downtown Tulsa.

City and county officials, emergency responders, and other city, county and state public safety officials turned out to update the public.

Street clearing continues in preparation for the next round of snow. Plowing and treating continues along arterial streets. Most have four lanes open though some are still down to one lane in each direction. Many secondary arterial streets are passable as of Sunday. Two city contractors are working on the secondary arterials.

Fire engines continue to drive neighborhood streets in an attempt to smash down the snow – when they are not responding to emergency calls.

Public Works is still operating around the clock, officials said. Spreaders are assigned to 35 routes totally 1,750 lane miles. They routes are prioritized based on traffic counts. Crews have divided the city into sections and began clearing in the most populated areas within each section first.

The Tulsa Police Department is fully staffed and still operating under "Operation Slick Streets" and only responding to injury collisions.

Residents are urged to call 911 only for emergency requests. They are asked to call 211 for requests like child care services, disability service, health care, housing, utility assistance and housing needs. .

Residential trash collection service will resume this week. Tulsans should expect delays due to road conditions. Backyard service customers will only be serviced if there is a clear pathway to the backyard gate. If not, those customers are asked to bring their bagged trash or trash containers to the curb if possible.

Collectors will let city staff know if there are neighborhoods or streets that are impassible so those areas can be addressed with other equipment that can reach them.

City crews will not pick up trash from contains or bags that are partially buried by ice or snow or are overweight (more than 50 pounds).

A total of 61 water line breaks had been reported through Saturday, including the break at 21st and Wheeling that left St. John Hospital without water for several hours.

Light snow is in the forecast for Sunday and 5 to 10 inches of snow expected for overnight Tuesday and Wednesday.

"The bull's eye should be to the south of us this time," said News On 6 meteorologist Dick Faurot Sunday morning, "but we're still on the target."
