More Than 1,000 Injuries Attributed To Oklahoma Storm

The state Department of Health says the recent winter storm that socked Oklahoma has resulted in more than 1,000 injuries.

OKLAHOMA CITY -- The state Department of Health says the recent winter storm that socked Oklahoma has resulted in more than 1,000 injuries.

Agency spokeswoman Leslea Bennett-Webb says the final tally for winter storm-related injuries in the state during the past week is at 1,065. Of that number, 750 injuries are being attributed to

falls and another 160 are transportation related.

Four fatalities have been reported, one from a head injury and three after a sport utility vehicle veered off the Will Rogers Turnpike near Miami and plunged into the icy Spring River.

On Saturday alone, the Health Department received 263 reports of injuries, including 193 falls.
