TULSA, Oklahoma -- Valentine's Day may be the day of love, but for some it may bring out feelings of dread or loneliness.

A Tulsa therapist is kicking off a program called "Finding Love After 40" to help singles here in Green Country.

Jennifer Pettey and Lisa Nelson are both over age 40 and dating.

"Like, what am I doing wrong, who am I picking, is my picker broke," Jennifer said.

"It's a lot of fun; I'm having fun with it. It's challenging," Lisa said.

"It's frustrating," Jennifer said. "It just seems like I can't meet anyone. I do meet people but - it's just not that person."

Lisa and Jennifer will be participating in the "Finding Love After 40" program where they will learn skills which will help them in the dating world. They will even have assignments, where they come to places like this and use those skills.

Therapist Kim Beair created the program and wrote the book "First Comes Love, Then What?"

"I have a list of 200 ways to meet people that a lot of people don't think of because we're all caught in the rut of our own lives," Beair said.

She's going to separate the men and women in her program and teach them how to think like the other gender.

"They will be with other people, we're going to have links to Facebook and YouTube where they can do the armchair psychology thing on other people," she said. "Sometimes that the best way to learn for yourself is analyzing someone else."

Beair also says the "movie romance"many people want, such as the famous Jerry Maguire line "You complete me," is not realistic.

"You need to be whole before you choose a marital partner," she said.

Jennifer and Lisa hope this makes dating easier.

"Well, it sounded like a lot of fun and it sounds like we will get some good ideas and maybe some things we hadn't talked about before and just some new ways to think about things," Lisa said.

The "Finding Love After 40" program starts on March 1st and lasts ten weeks.  To sign up for the program, just go to 918moms.com.
