Other Green Country school districts are revealing their plans to make up the missed days.

Two snow storms and a water main break back in September meant Broken Arrow had a lot of canceled classes. The school district allotted five snow days.

Here's how they plan to make up the extra seven they took: Students will go to school next Monday, February 21, 2011. If the state department approves, the district also plans to add 15 to 30 minutes to the school day, beginning after Spring Break.

Bixby had four snow days built in and ended up taking eleven. To make up those seven days, Bixby will now hold class on February 21, 2011, and add 30 minutes to the end of the day, beginning February 21, 2011, through the end of the year.

The 2011 blizzard slammed Owasso with 21 inches of snow in a short period of time. That storm caused the biggest chunk of Owasso's snow days. The district had four built-in and took eleven.

Board members approved holding class this Friday, February 18, 2011, and Monday, February 21, 2011.  The district will also add 30 minutes to each school day beginning February 28, 2011, to the end of the year.

Union has to make up six snow days. The district missed 11 days, but had five days built-in to the calendar, making Wednesday, June 1, 2011, the last day. The district will add 30 minutes at the end of each school day starting February 28, 2011, through the end of the year and convert February 21, 2011, and March 25, 2011, to school days.

Sapulpa took eleven snow days with only five built in to the calendar. Sapulpa will now hold class on February 21, 2011, and a parent-teacher conference day on March 11, 2011, which students originally had off. The district is also adding 30 minutes to the school day, starting February 21, 2011.

Several of these districts sent surveys to parents and staff for input and made decisions with those surveys in mind.

Muskogee's school board is meeting Tuesday and Jenks meets on Wednesday to approve its plans.  Other districts will be deciding their plans over the next week or two.
