OKLAHOMA CITY -- A State House committee signed off on a bill that would temporarily lift Oklahoma's Art in Public Places act.

It's a story the Oklahoma Impact Team told you about last summer.

Right now, anytime the state spends $250,000 on a building project a fraction has to go to art. Some art projects have cost as much as $500,000.

State lawmakers say with Oklahoma's budget a $500 million in the hole, the state can't justify spending money on art, when school and other agencies are taking big cuts.
