OKLAHOMA CITY -- An elderly woman injured in an Oklahoma City house fire Wednesday morning has been rushed to a local hospital.
Firefighters were called out at 8:30 a.m. to battle a fire at a home in the 1100 block of Carter Drive. When crews went into the burning house, they found a woman lying near the front door. She had second- and third-degree burns and suffered from smoke inhalation.
An ambulance rushed the woman to a hospital. There's no word on her condition, but Deputy Chief Cecil Clay described her condition as "grave."
Firefighters said it appears the fire started in the kitchen, but investigators are still trying to determine how it started.
