OKLAHOMA CITY -- More than one hundred protesters were at the Oklahoma Capitol Saturday to show support for union workers in Wisconsin.

That state's assembly has passed a bill that would require public workers to contribute more to their pensions and health insurance and strip them of most of their collective bargaining rights.

"It's being able to come together and talk about their salaries, about different things they wish to have, being able to have a voice," said Jeanine Ridener, who rallied for union workers.

Wisconsin's governor said this bill is a way to begin fixing a projected $3.6 billion shortfall in the next budget.

Protestors in Wisconsin have agreed to leave the state Capitol Sunday night. Hundreds of teachers have been warned they could be laid off if legislators do not vote on the bill. The governor said the deadline for action is Friday.

The bill is now in the Wisconsin Senate, but that chamber's 14 Democrats fled the state more than a week ago which prevents a vote since the Senate is one short of a quorum.
