TULSA, Oklahoma -- A Tulsa newspaper has announced it has reduced its workforce effective Tuesday, March 1st.
According to an article posted on the Tulsa World's web site, the company cut 18 positions which is about 3 percent of its staff.
It goes on to say the layoffs were the result of a company-wide evaluation by management of operational efficiencies.
According to the article, Tulsa World publisher Robert E. Lorton III cited 'a softness' in the local economy as a reason.
The last layoff at the Tulsa World was in January 2009.
