TULSA, Oklahoma --  Friends of the family say an ailing Vinita girl whose brother won a state wrestling championship in her honor received some high-profile visitors this week.

Cameron Martin, 12, has been in the pediatric ICU at St. Francis for more than a month.

She came down with the flu, which then became pneumonia and led to MRSA, a bacterial infection that can be deadly.

Friends of the family say she was visited by members of the Oklahoma State University football team on Wednesday.  The group was led by stand-out wide receiver Justin Blackmon and included Elliott Jeffcoat, Yves Batoba and Michael Roberts.

The next day she was visited by former OU quarterback Paul Thompson.  Thompson led the Sooners to the Big 12 Championship in 2006.

Friends tell News On 6 Cameron's condition has improved this week.  They say she was able to breathe on her own for the first time in 31 days.
