TULSA, Oklahoma -- Tulsa Police are investigating an assault on a school bus that was being delivered to an out of state customer Monday morning.

The bus was en route from the Tulsa bus plant on North Mingo to the Camden, Georgia school district.

Police say the driver, a contract worker, left the Tulsa bus plant then picked up his wife for the trip to Georgia.

According to police, an altercation occurred in the bus near 56th Street North and Mingo, and the woman either fell, was pushed or jumped out the back of the bus.  Police say the driver, identified as Benjamin Hill, forced her back onboard.

"She jumped out the rear emergency exit, was laying in the roadway, he did a u-turn, came back and grabbed her and threw her back in the bus," Tulsa Police Sergeant Bill Goree said.

Officers say an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper tried to stop the bus at I-244 and Utica but the Hill did not stop until he got to Hillcrest Medical Center.

Police arrested Hill and took him to jail.

There's no word on the woman's injuries or her condition.
