OKLAHOMA CITY -- A Hennessey man accused of molesting his tenants' 11-year-old daughter was out on bond Tuesday.

William "Bill" Hail faces charges of lewd acts with a child, rape by instrumentation and luring a minor into seclusion.

His attorney, Josh Welch of Oklahoma City, said the parents of the child making the accusations rented property from Hail and owed him money.

"He emphatically denies it ever happened. He's known this family for eight plus years," Welch said. "These allegations came after my client attempted to collect money from this girl's family for property damage."

Welch claimed his client has several witnesses who will account for his whereabouts on the date in question.

"We will have at least four or five sworn affidavits from people that were with him the entire day. We'll have cell phone records that will corroborate these affidavits," Welch said.

The court affidavit stated the 11-year-old claimed that on March 2, Hail followed her school bus and approached her after the bus dropped her off at the Turkey Creek Trail Park where the family currently lives.

He then reportedly took her to his home where he molested her, and then drove her back to the trailer park.

"My client simply was not in that place at that time. It's going to be easy for us to show this girl fabricated this story," Welch said.

The girl's mother said there's no way her 11-year-old made this up, and there are no words to describe the anger she feels right now.

"We had our trust in him and his wife," said Charley Dawson, who is the mother of the 11-year-old. "He betrayed our trust. No child should have to go through what she went through."

Hail's attorney said he feels so strongly that his client will be exonerated that he is refusing to accept any plea agreement. He plans to fight until the charges are dropped.
