TULSA, Oklahoma -- There are several ways people in Green Country can help those devastated by the massive earthquake and subsequent tsunami that hit Japan.

The international Red Cross has been mobilized and active across Japan and Hawaii.

People who want to help can go to www.OklahomaRedCross.org and donate to Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami.  

People can also make a $10 donation by texting REDCROSS to 90999.

The American Red Cross says they have not received any requests for blood from the Japanese Red Cross, the Japanese government or the U.S. State Department.

However, blood donations are always needed so that we can be prepared to meet any emergency, the organization said.

Those who would like to donate can call 1-800-RED CROSS or visit their website.

There are many other organizations that are assisting earthquake victims in Japan and are ready to take your donations:
