BOYNTON, Oklahoma -- The Oklahoma Board of Education is scheduled to discuss and possibly decide whether to revoke the accreditation of Boynton-Moton Public School District during a meeting Thursday morning.

See State Board of Education agenda.

If the state board revokes the accreditation, the small Muskogee County school district would no longer be recognized by the state Department of Education and ordered closed.

It is item 7 on the state board's agenda which gets underway at 9:30 a.m. in Oklahoma City.

Last month, the Boynton-Moton school board decided to table a vote on whether to apply for annexation with several nearby school districts.

Boynton is located southwest of Muskogee on U.S. Highway 62.
