OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals has upheld the life prison sentence of a teen convicted of first-degree murder for the shooting death of a 25-year-old man in Tulsa County.
The court handed down the decision Tuesday in the case of 18-year-old Demy Terrell Roberson.
A Tulsa County jury found Roberson guilty in the death of Lamont Dion Edwards, who was shot in the face at a north Tulsa apartment complex in October 2008. Roberson was also convicted of assault with a deadly weapon after a second man, 23-year-old Devin Edwards, suffered a gunshot wound to the neck.
Witnesses told police both men and a woman were inside an apartment when they heard a knock at the back door. They say gunfire erupted when the door was opened.
