TULSA, Oklahoma – The Tulsa branch of the NAACP wants the Chief of Police for Tulsa Public Schools to be fired for sending an inflammatory email about a principal's arrest.

In a statement Friday, the NAACP calls for the "immediate firing" of Gary Rudick.

Rudick has come under fire for sending an email pushing for the conviction of Lynette Dixon, the principal of Hawthorne Community School.  She was arrested on March 7, 2011, at the Comanche Park Apartments for allegedly interfering with police.

Dixon has since been suspended from her job.

In the email, Rudick calls Dixon "a real problem with an attitude that needs to be corrected."  He goes on to say "the school district from the Superintendent down is in support of the arrest."

Rudick has been placed on unpaid administrative leave.

Dr. Keith Ballard, Superintendent of Tulsa Public Schools, said he will investigate Rudick's email next week, because he's busy with the Project Schoolhouse consolidation plan right now.  Ballard said no one at the district except Rudick knew of the email until April 19, 2011.
