SALINA, Oklahoma -- Two people are dead after a motorcycle collides with a truck four miles east of Salina, authorities said.

Jay residents James McNeely, 56, and Betty Baumann, 55, were pronounced dead at the scene Sunday evening, according to an accident report.

Troopers say it happened when a 2005 motorcycle driven by McNeely failed to negotiate a curve, went over to the other lane of traffic and collided with a Ford pickup.

None of the passengers in the truck were injured. Troopers say speed was a factor in the crash.

Neither McNeely nor Baumann were wearing helmets, according to the report.
