CASHION, Oklahoma -- Firefighters from four agencies battled a gas line explosion in far northeastern Canadian County Saturday afternoon.
The explosion occurred about 1 p.m. in an eight-inch gas line one-half mile east of County Line Road on Simmons. No one was injured in the blast.
Officials on the scene did not have a definitive cause for the leak and explosion, but said the age of the line was a possible factor contributing to the incident.
The line fed natural gas to the Duke Energy plant in Cashion, Oklahoma.
