A 75-year-old man is dead after crashing his motorcycle on I-40 in Custer County.

CUSTER COUNTY, Oklahoma -- A 75-year-old man is dead after crashing his motorcycle on I-40 in Custer County.

It happened just after 10:00 a.m. Sunday in the eastbound lane at mile marker 70.

According to an accident report, Earl Leon Rook of Lees Summit, Missouri was driving a 2007 Harley Davidson when he departed the highway for an unknown reason.

The bike then struck a cable barrier, ejecting Leon approximately 50 feet from the point of impact, the report said.

The victim was transported to a Clinton hospital and later pronounced dead.

Troopers say the Leon was wearing a helmet.
