JOPLIN, Missouri -- Search and rescue crews in Joplin were busy on Monday looking for survivors from Sunday's devastating storm.

Monday's rescue efforts were hampered by several storms which rolled through the SW Missouri community, still 10 people were been pulled alive from the rubble, bringing the number of survivors found to 17.

News On 6 reporter Jamie McGriff talked with one of those survivors, Lacy Tasker, Tuesday morning near St. John hospital in Joplin.

"It was scary," she said.  "I didn't know how much of Joplin had been affected.  I didn't know if we should run to St. John's if another one was going to come."  But St. John's Medical Center took a direct hit and was heavily damaged.

Lasker's first concern after the tornado passed was for her grandmother, who she later learned had not survived.

Still, she considers herself lucky.  "Looking around we are so blessed that we have our family."
