NORMAN, Oklahoma – The normally media-shy Jermaine Gresham took to the podium Monday to address questions about his injury and the 2010 NFL Draft.

The Sooners’ tight end, beckoned by head coach Bob Stoops, briefly addressed the team’s loss of injured quarterback Sam Bradford.

“That’s Sammy B, we’re like family,” Gresham said. “He’s a very good leader, he sets a good impression. Him and G.K. (Gerald McCoy), you look up to them guys because they’re good players, but their great people first off.”

Gresham suffered an injury to his right knee just before the Sooners’ season-opener against Brigham Young University. The All-American has since undergone arthroscopic surgery and began rehab.

It’s been very, very hard on me, you work hard all the way up to the season and not getting to play, it’s tough,” Gresham said.

When asked about how his team will fare without him and Bradford, Gresham seemed confident in the Sooners’ abilities.

“The goals are all still the same,” Gresham said. “We play every game to win, we don’t play to lose.”
