TULSA, Oklahoma -- Kevi Luper seems to have no problems with her transition to college basketball. The freshman scored a Summit League single-game record 44 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead the Oral Roberts University women’s basketball team past La Salle by a score of 76-55.
Luper, who went a school-record 19-of-25 from the field, scored the second-most points in ORU history behind Stacy William’s 50-point effort in 1990.
Janae Voelker also had a big day with her 23rd-career double-double and Jaci Bigham chipped in 11.
The contest was back-and-forth through the first 30 minutes. But with 10 minutes remaining, the Golden Eagles put together a 20-2 run, which included 10 points from Luper. The Golden Eagles shot 43 percent from the field, while holding the Explorers to 32 percent.
The Golden Eagles (2-1) return to action on Nov. 28 at Houston Baptist.
