CONWAY, Arkansas -- Taleya Mayberry, Tiffani Couisnard and Larrissa Williams all scored in double-digits for Tulsa, but it wasn’t enough as the Golden Hurricane lost 86-77 to Central Arkansas Tuesday.

Mayberry put up a team-leading 12 points, while Couisnard earned her first double-double with 11 points and a team-high 15 rebounds, and Williams added 10 points. Chanice Scott recorded nine points, while Kara Vaughan and Teka Brooks each added eight.

TU (3-2) shot just 33 percent from the field, including 22 percent from behind the arc, but shot 68 percent from the charity stripe. Tulsa was in foul trouble throughout the game and finished with 30 fouls to Central Arkansas’ 16 in the game. The Golden Hurricane, however, out-rebounded UCA, 58-40, and had 15 turnovers in the game.

Mayberry put up a 3-pointer to start the contest and TU jumped out to a 14-4 lead with 16:51 on the clock, but eight fouls before the 11-minute mark forced several Golden Hurricane starters to sit on the bench. The Sugar Bears (4-2) tied the contest at 22 with 9:59 left to play in the half, and climbed to their own 11-point advantage to head into the break.

The Golden Hurricane came to within four points with 2:13 remaining to play, but the Sugar Bears pulled ahead on free throws for the nine-point win.

UCA was led by Megan Herbert who notched 36 points in the contest and pulled down a game-high 18 rebounds. Desiree Rogers and Britney Gowans also tallied double figures with 14 and 10, respectively.

The Golden Hurricane will return to action on Friday, Dec. 4 at Marist. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m. CST at the McCann Center in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
