SPOKANE, Washington -- Tiny Gallon may have shattered the backboard but Gonzaga smashed Oklahoma 83-69 Thursday night in Spokane.

Gallon went up for an alley-oop with 15:34 left in the second half. Gallon, who weighs 296 pounds, missed the ball, but grabbed the front of the rim with both hands.

The force shattered the backboard, showering players and some fans with debris. Both teams went to the locker rooms while workers swept up the glass and prepared a replacement. The game was delayed for 52 minutes.

Gonzaga was leading 59-41 at the time.

Gallon is a 6-foot-9 freshmen from Vallejo, Calif., whose given name is Keith. He weighed 12 pounds, 11 ounces at birth, and was 360 pounds in ninth grade before slimming down in college.

Willie Warren had a game-high 19 points. Andrew Fitzgerald scored 13 points and was the only other Sooner in double-figures, Gallon finished with eight points.

Steven Gray dropped 18 points while Elias Harris added 15. The Bulldogs had five players score double-digits.
