DALLAS – On the eve of the Cotton Bowl, players and coaches from Ole Miss and Oklahoma State were not available for comment, so Oklahoma Sports went out to the New Years Day parade in Dallas to check out what fans had to say about the season.

It has been a year of ups and downs for Cowboy fans, but overall they’re happy to be in the Lone Star State.

“Losing Dez (Bryant) was a big blow for us. Through all that and Zac Robinson getting injured and all that stuff, I think it ended up being a really good season for us,” said Chris Duke from Okemah.

Said Stillwater’s Evi Garren, “There were a couple close games where I think we could have ended up winning, but you can’t win them all and I think a 9-3 record is a great way to end it.”

Many fans had BCS Bowl hopes before the season, but they say a Cotton Bowl bid is still something to be excited about.

“It’d be a great victory for us to go out and beat Ole Miss and prepare for a better season next year,” said Yukon’s Craig Carroll.

Said former Pistol Pete and Tulsa native Michael Harris, “I’d like to think it’s going to be close and I’d like to say Oklahoma State is going to be able to eek it out on the end, but I have a feeling it’s going to be like the (2004) Cotton Bowl (loss). It’s going to be a close game.”

OSU opted not to have a pep rally following the parade on Friday afternoon, but overall spirits are high heading into the Cotton Bowl game.
