OKLAHOMA CITY -- The same day the two were scheduled to meet in Chicago, the Bulls’ Derrick Rose and Oklahoma City Thunder’s Kevin Durant were named NBA Players of the Week.

Durant led the league with 34.3 points per game from December 28-January 3 and added 5.0 rebounds and 5.7 assists per contest in that time frame. On Saturday against the Milwaukee Bucks, Durant notched his seventh consecutive 30-point game, becoming the first player to accomplish that feat since LeBron James in 2007.

Rose led the Bulls in scoring in every game during the week and became the first Bulls player to post a 30-point, five rebound, five assist game since Kirk Hinrich in 2008.
