STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- As reported earlier, Oklahoma State has hired a new offensive coordinator, Dana Holgorsen from the University of Houston.
“We’re elated that Dana is joining our staff,” head coach Mike Gundy said in a press release. “He has a great pedigree, and a history of success. We’re excited about what he brings to the OSU football program.”
Holgorsen spent two years as the play caller at Houston and led the Cougars high powered offense. During his final year on the sideline for UH, it led the nation in total offense with 563 yards per game, scoring offense with 42.2 points per game, and passing offense with 433.7 yards per game.
Prior to his time at Houston, Holgorsen was a member of the offensive staff at Texas Tech.
“I am extremely excited about the opportunity to work with Coach Gundy and his program at OSU,” Holgorsen said in a release. “I want to thank head coach Kevin Sumlin and the University of Houston for my time in Houston. It’s great to be a part of the Oklahoma State family and to be back in the Big 12.”
There will be changes to duties among the coaching staff, and those will be announced as they are finalized.
