NORMAN, Oklahoma – Sherri Coale earned the 300th win of her career Saturday as the Oklahoma women cruised past Kansas 81-69.
OU rode a huge first-half run to a big lead and never looked back. The Jayhawks (11-7, 1-4) jumped out to a quick start with a 10-2 run to start the game, but OU (14-4, 4-1) responded with a 22-2 run shortly after to take a 28-18 lead. The Sooners did not trail for the rest of the game.
Oklahoma carried a 37-24 lead into halftime, and then started the second half with another run to build a lead of as much as 23. Kansas slowly chipped away at the advantage and reduced it to 10, but the Sooners went on yet another run and the Jayhawks never got close again.
Nyeshia Stevenson led OU with 22 points and shot 4-of-10 from 3-point range. Freshman Joanna McFarland recorded the first double-digit scoring game of her college career with 11 points. Danielle Robinson scored 14 and Carlee Roethlisberger added 10.
