Ron West Steps Down from Tulsa Coaching Staff

TULSA, Oklahoma -- University of Tulsa co-defensive coordinator Ron West accepted an assistant coaching position at the University of Illinois.

West coached linebackers for the Golden Hurricane and will coach inside linebackers for the Illini.

West came to Tulsa after 10 years at Clemson University. He also coached at Tulane, Baylor, Louisiana-Lafayette, Texas Tech, and North Texas.

Outside receiver coach Clarence James also announced that he is stepping down from the TU coaching staff.
