Oral Roberts Completes Four-Game Sweep of Oakland

The Golden Eagles earned their first Summit League sweep of the season.

TULSA, Oklahoma – Oral Roberts defeated Oakland 4-2 to complete a four-game sweep of the Golden Grizzlies Sunday.

The Golden Eagles (16-13, 4-0) did most of their damage with two outs in the fourth inning. Seth Furmanek scored on an error for the first run of the game. Brett Sowers singled on the next play to bring in Tyler Garewal and make it a 2-0 game. Bennett Pickar followed that up with an RBI single to left that brought in P.J. Sequeira to put the Golden Eagles up 3-0.

Pickar added an insurance run in the sixth with a solo home run to left field. He finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

Jameson Dunn (1-0) earned the win for the Golden Eagles after throwing seven scoreless innings. Matt LaMothe (1-4) was tagged with the loss for Oakland after giving up four runs (one earned) in seven innings.

The Golden Eagles return to action against UALR at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
