Dez Bryant Debuts, Injures Ankle

The biggest wild card in the NFL Draft lived up to his on-again, off-again talent.

Former Oklahoma State wide receiver Dez Bryant, drafted No. 24 by the Dallas Cowboys, impressed in his first minicamp, but also rolled an ankle according to the Dallas Morning News.

The injury isn’t considered serious, but Bryant’s ability is.

"Dez Bryant is an absolute talent," head coach Wade Phillips told the newspaper. "You don't get to be around many players that come in and look that good that early.”

The Protector

Russell Okung is easily adjusting to his first NFL minicamp, reports the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

"I feel like I'm swimming a little bit," Okung, who is taking snaps with the first team offense, told the paper. "I'm a bit overwhelmed. But I'm taking everything in.
"I'm learning, I'm getting in the playbook, I'm being patient and everything is going to get rolling."

Though, reading Seattle Times columnist Jerry Brewer’s story, it’s no surprise Okung is adapting so fast..

Meet Zac Robinson

While he has no guarantee of securing a quarterback job with the New England Patriots, former Cowboys’ quarterback Zac Robinson has caught the attention of backup signal-caller Brian Hoyer.

Hoyer, who went undrafted last year, became the Patriots backup after the trade of Matt Cassel. But, instead of worrying about depth charts and the temperature under the shadow of Tom Brady, Robinson is just interested in working hard.

“I’m really not worried about that right now,” Robinson told the Providence Journal. “Right now I’m just going to work as hard as I can, prepare, and just try to get this offense down. I’m way behind [Hoyer], so I just have to play catch-up and learn the offense as quick as I can.”

The team has converted several quarterbacks to other positions in years past, but plans to keep Robinson at quarterback for the time being.
