Buechele Named to Baseball America's College All-America Team

The Sooners' third baseman earned a spot on the team after leading OU in several offensive categories.

IRVING, Texas -- Oklahoma Sooners’ third baseman Garrett Buechele was one of five Big 12 players named a member of Baseball America’s 2010 College All-America Team.

The OU sophomore led the team with a .343 batting average, hit 16 home runs and drove in 64 runs as he helped the Sooners reach their first College World Series since 1995.

Joining him on the All-America Team are Taylor Jungman, Chance Ruffin (Texas), Barrett Loux and John Stilson (Texas A&M).

The Sooners will open up their first College World Series in 15 years against South Carolina at 1 p.m. Sunday.
