NORMAN, Oklahoma -- Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops sat down with Dean Blevins for the weekly coach’s show.

The Sooners had to hold off a late-game comeback attempt by the Cincinnati Bearcats to advance to 4-0 and stay undefeated going into the Red River Rivalry Game against Texas.

Stoops believes that Cincinnati was a tougher test than they are receiving credit for.

“Everyone wants to forget that the last two years in a row they’ve been the Big East champs. We knew going in there it was going to be a tough game,” Stoops said. “We’re very aware of some areas we need to clean up to play a little bit better.”

Fans may have a lack of confidence after the Sooners’ repeated underperformance late in games, but to the players and coaches they’re just glad to be undefeated.

“I look back a year ago and we have two losses, each of them by one point, and [being 4-0] is a heck of a lot better,” Stoops said. “As coaches we’re aware of where we need to make improvements.”
