Thunder Players Deliver Shoes to Local School

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Thunder players Nick Collison and Russell Westbrook, the Thunder Girls Dance Team and Rumble the Bison teamed up with SandRidge Energy employees to distribute shoes to Thelma R. Parks Elementary on Tuesday.

The team delivered a new pair of Nike shoes to each student at the school (about 375 total).

SandRidge Energy Employees raised more than $14,000 to purchase the shoes, which they got for a discount from Baptist's Athletic Supply in Shawnee.

This is the third straight year SandRidge and the Thunder have teamed up to offer the "Shoe Party."

The Thunder take on the Houston Rockets at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Oklahoma City Arena.
