NORMAN, Oklahoma -- University of Oklahoma freshman running back Roy Finch will not play in the Fiesta Bowl due to a stress fracture in his left foot.

The re-occurrence of the injury happened on Friday during the Sooners' practice.

Team physicians performed surgery on Finch on Saturday to insert two pins. He missed the first five games of this season with a similar injury.

OU coach Bob Stoops said Finch will mis 6-7 weeks but should be ready to go for OU's spring practices.

In eight games, Finch rushed 85 times for 398 yards and two touchdowns. He also caught 10 passes for 49 yards.

Senior Mossis Madu and freshman Brennan Clay are expected to see more time backing up DeMarco Murray in Finch's absence.
